Big Garden
The Big Garden is a network of community gardens located in Omaha, Nebraska, focused on empowering neighbors to grow nutritious food, build community relationships, create safe neighborhood spaces and develop healthy lifestyles. Individually designed to fit the needs of the neighborhood, each garden site is a safe place for families to plant, nurture, and harvest their own fresh food. Each site is also a centerpiece for neighborhood programs ranging from health and nutrition classes to live music events. When people come together to work in a garden the benefits are unlimited. Come play in our dirt. Come explore the Big Garden. Click here to view garden locations.

City Sprouts
Since 1995, City Sprouts has maintained community and family gardens in our half-acre demonstration plot at 40th and Franklin Streets in the Orchard Hill Neighborhood of North Omaha. We work with inner-city residents and volunteers from around Omaha to grow vegetables, flowers, and herbs using environmentally responsible and sustainable gardening techniques. Our mission is to sustain communities through gardening. We help Omaha neighborhoods, civic groups, schools, youth groups, and residents develop lasting, productive green spaces. Our larger vision is to work with Omahans to build local food systems, improve community health, empower neighborhoods, and strengthen economic viability and sustainability. Dundee Community Garden
Located at 49th & Underwood, since 2009, the garden has been a green oasis for many in this corner of the Dundee and Omaha, Nebraska area. The Dundee Community Garden was developed from the community’s need to transform an empty lot into a place of beauty and an asset to all in the surrounding area. The Dundee Garden serves as a place to strengthen neighborhood bonds, create friendships, and share the love of gardening. Through openness and collaboration, the Dundee Community Garden has endeared itself to the community. The garden provides beauty to the area and its members express pride and appreciation for the chance to improve the neighborhood.

LINCOLN

Community CROPS
Community CROPS (Combining Resources, Opportunities, and People for Sustainability) helps people work together to grow healthy food and live sustainably. Lincoln is a community that values all people and where everyone has access to locally grown healthy food. Our community grows together, celebrating life and culture and recognizing our connection to the Earth. Our gardens provide the opportunity to share knowledge, educate, experience personal growth, and provide green spaces for mental, spiritual and physical healing and well-being. We are creating a resilient system where people can earn a living by feeding our community and conserve precious resources for future generations. Community CROPS was started with one community garden in 2003, and has grown over the years to become a successful organization. CROPS now has sixteen community garden sites, a training farm, a successful Community Supported Agriculture program, a regular stand at the Old Cheney Road Farmers' Market, and more. Community CROPS currently has five full-time staff positions, three AmeriCorps members, and numerous volunteers who help with our projects, as well as a great group of farmers and gardeners.
