I did ask them about additives and preservatives in their chicken just a couple weeks ago, and they assured me that there were none. There's no broth or anything...just natural chicken. And I know Tyson does make ONE version of their chicken that is just plain chicken (and one version that is NOT...which I'll be posting a blog about VERY soon), but I didn't ask about a brand/source, so I would be interested to know what you find out. :)

hmmmm - I thought so. I know Susan can't use Tyson chicken due to it having non gluten free additives & preservatives. And I know she didn't get sick when we ate there last. I can call and ask. I know their gluten free breads and wraps are out of Colorado so that's not local - but at least it is available. (we are talking about Blue Planet)

Thanks. I actually sent Blue Planet a message to confirm that they offer locally-produced foods. I just hadn't heard back yet. Are you sure their chicken is organic? When they first opened, we saw a Tyson bag in the kitchen. I know they've updated their menu a lot, though, so perhaps that's changed?? I have a friend with celiac and she always asks to go there. She loves that she can have pizza or a sandwich - they purchase bread, muffins, and wraps that are gluten free. Also they have a separate room, utensils, etc to make sure there is no cross contamination! Everything I've had there has been wonderful. Their chicken, meat is organic too.

Address is: 6307 Center St., by the new aksarban mall/farmer's market (about 2 blocks down maybe)

I think maybe he meant Big Mamas? That would probably make more sense ;) So good to hear about Blue Planet.

Blue Planet just starting getting beef from Thistles & Clover. They also told me that their tomatoes and lettuce are local, and I don't remember what else....

Thanks, Jodi! Where is Mama Kelly's? I can't find it on Google....

Oh, and the server at Dixie Quicks said that Mama Kelly's uses a lot of local ingredients as well, but we've never eaten there and I can't confirm it.

Upstream uses a lot of local ingredients. Lil' Burro in Bellevue grows their own produce in a garden behind the restaurant, not sure of their gardening practices. I would love to know what Blue Planet uses locally, when we ate there everything was frozen out of packaging.
